On 12 December, the Komitas Museum-Institute hosted a cultural workshop titled “Europe & Armenia: Origins and Horizons”, bringing together ambassadors of European countries, heads of business organisations operating in Armenia, economic attachés and around 100 representatives of the business community.

The session was organised for the fourth time at the initiative of Galaxy Group of Companies and European Business Association (EBA) Armenia. It has taken shape as a traditional business breakfast format, during which EU ambassadors and business leaders discuss opportunities for economic and cultural cooperation, investment and collaboration.
“Today, business is more than numbers and contracts. It is about identity — who we are and how we connect with one another. In the modern world, success depends on relationships, people and culture. That is why events of this kind matter: they help us combine not only business potential but also the shared values of cultural understanding. Armenia recognises and feels Europe’s cultural spirit, while Europe increasingly acknowledges the creative resilience of Armenian potential,” said Aram Khachatryan, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Galaxy Group of Companies.

At this year’s event, the ambassadors of Greece, Italy andRomania — H.E. Mr. Christos Sofianopoulos, H.E. Mr. Alessandro Ferranti and H.E. Mr. Cornel Ionescu — presented the economic and investment opportunities of their respective countries. Artyom Khachatryan, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of the Board of the Galaxy Group, presented the Group’s economic impact indicators and the presence of European brands within the organisation’s ecosystem.

A welcome video message was delivered by Ms. Diana Sarumova, Executive Director of the European Business Association (EBA Armenia). The official opening of the workshop was carried out by H.E. Mr. Vassilis Maragos, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia and Head of the EU Delegation. In his remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the steady growth of Armenia–EU trade turnover and emphasised the importance of a competitive and improving business environment for unlocking the full potential of economic cooperation.

“This meeting is significant for us. Repeated over the years, it has become a tradition. It is a platform that reinforces the sense of unity within the community and reminds us what can be achieved when diplomatic and business efforts come together around one table. We thank the ambassadors of the European Union, whose ideas and initiatives greatly contribute to raising EU awareness in Armenia, strengthening ties and promoting European values,” said Ms. Diana Sarumova, Executive Director of EBA Armenia.

It is noteworthy that this year’s venue — the Komitas Museum-Institute — was selected to highlight the interconnection between business, diplomacy and culture. The presentation of Komitas’s heritage provided guests with an opportunity to engage more deeply with Armenian cultural roots, which are closely interwoven with European cultural tradition. Guests took part in a specially curated museum tour and an immersive contemporary ballet performance based on Komitasian motifs, choreographed byArman Balmanukyan as part of a Komitas Contemporary Ballet Tour. The culmination of the performance was a live rendition of Komitas’s Antuni, performed by pianist Katarine Hovsepyan and tenor Hayk Vardanyan. The event concept was developed by AxelMondrian, a communications company and member of the European professional network.
